eSight Server Manager

Provides comprehensive monitoring and management of servers throughout the network; simplifies O&M in complex environments to optimize performance and ROI.

eSight Server Manager maintains detailed inventories of server models, specifications, configurations, utilization rates, operating systems running on each server, virtualization, applications, and administrative services. Graphical interfaces simplify system software and firmware upgrades for manual, dynamic, and batch-mode provisioning operations, saving time and accelerating upgrades.

Consistent with all eSight components, the Server Manager Management system provides a unified, visual interface for managing enterprise computing infrastructure.

Keep servers updated and server-based applications running smoothly and responsively with eSight Server Manager

Key Features

Detailed monitoring of hardware and system software
  • Uses SNMP, WMI, SSH, and Telnet to monitor hosts and operating systems including Windows, AIX, Linux, Solaris, and HP-UX, giving administrators instant visibility into performance and dynamic alerts when fault conditions occur
  • Monitors hardware performance, including CPU and memory utilization, system and disk-level status, providing visual and graphical displays of the overall health of servers in real time
Detailed hardware asset tracking and configuration management
  • Maintains static information about servers — by name, IP address, type, model, description, health and online/offline status — as well information regarding components — power supplies, fans, CPU, memory, hard disks, motherboards, and switching hardware
  • Collects dynamic performance data, including status of server CPUs, memory, hard disks, fans, and power supplies, for evaluating system health and for anticipating and managing service faults
Batch management, updates, and configuration
  • Enables batch-mode distribution and provisioning of operating systems — supporting Windows, Unix, AIX, Red Hat Linux, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, among others
  • Supports automatic batch-mode upgrades of server firmware: iBMC, BIOS, RAID, CNA, MM, CPLD, and LCD — sparing expensive travel for on-site maintenance and improving O&M efficiency
  • Templates for batch configuration upgrades ensure accurate configurations of servers: BIOS system boot option configuration, RAID configuration based on the LSI2208/LSI2308 card, PF and VLAN configuration for the CAN port, and HBA SAN boot information configuration
Remote maintenance capabilities Remote KVM support enables administrators to manage servers anywhere in the network, accelerating server performance and utilization while saving time and money
User-friendly visual interfaces Graphical User Interface (GUI) screens display server status, performance, and fault conditions in real time, helping administrators anticipate and respond quickly to issues before adverse impact on applications or users
Stateless computing
  • Centralized management of server hardware attributes, including MAC addresses, IP addresses, and World Wide Names (WWNs) enables compute power to be focused on application processing instead of management overhead
  • Maintains configurations by server node for delivering the correct configuration to replaced nodes, implementing effective plug-and-play
  • Delivers configurations to a queue in the network for dynamic provisioning when servers are powered on
